Sloan will go through hell and back for her little brother. And she does, every single night.
Forced to remain in a relationship with the dangerous and corrupt Asa Jackson, Sloan will do whatever it takes to make sure her brother has what he needs.
Nothing will get in her way.
Nothing except Carter.
Sloan is the only good thing to ever happen to Asa. He knows this and he never plans on letting her go; even if she doesn’t approve of his lifestyle. But despite Sloan’s disapproval, Asa knows what it takes to get what he wants. He knows what he needs to do to remain on top.
Nothing will get in his way.
Nothing except Carter.
If you’re familiar with Colleen’s writing style on her other previous works, you’d think this would be the same as the rest of them. Full of tears, full of moments where the readers would fall in love… Those sort of stuff.
Unfortunately, this one was worse.
This was intense.
To me, at least.
I mean, right from the beginning you could already feel the impact of what this book would deliver.
I have never, for the life of me, ever felt so heartbroken, so empty, so angry, so scared, and yet so in love all at the same time in one CoHo book. Usually, its just the falling in love and the tears. So when I was finally reading Too Late, I wasn’t prepared for all the emotions that came with the story.
It was so intense, it just left me so broken that I start to wonder why I love Colleen when I should be hating her for giving me so much heartaches with just a few words. Usually, tissues were enough to piece my heart back together. But after Too Late, I’m scared tissues would no longer suffice.
I’m already worried about Colleen’s new book and all the others she would write in the future.
I think so far, among all of the books that Colleen wrote, this one’s her boldest work yet. It’s just so…I don’t know. Everything was laid bear for everyone, and I don’t just mean the sex. We already know that when Colleen writes about sex, they’re written boldly. So if you’re wondering, yes, sex was still as daring as ever. But the whole story was, too… It’s characters, their background stories… I never imagined Colleen to ever write a character that can both be scary and yet so heartbreakingly beautiful. I’ve never felt like punching and hugging a character all at the same like this before. Everything about this was written boldly and emotions were very hard to keep neutral. So you can imagine my face contorted while reading due to too much feels.
Considering that Too Late is a free book she released as a special gift on Wattpad for her fans, this one just made it to my top 3 CoHo book: Ugly Love, November 9 and lastly, Too Late.
I would say I highly recommend this to everyone, but I’m worried some readers aren’t old enough for this. In other words, this isn’t a read for the innocent. So, I’ll just throw everyone a heads up: This book has a lot of mature content. Not a 50 shades of grey type of content, but you get what I mean.

Here’s to hoping we survive all of Colleen’s books for the rest of our bloody lives!
