And so she decided to start living the life she’d imagined…
Happy New Year, bloggers!
I am so excited to officially start my 2016 with a new review blog! I’m still trying to get a hold on how this site works, so I’m sorry if I’m a little… Hmm, I don’t know… Glitchy?
Anyways, it’s not like it’s my first time starting a blog. After all, I do have a Tumblr account. (Check it out here! ) But I seriously haven’t (like ever) made any reviews on book/film adaptations there, or anywhere. I barely even leave a review on my Goodreads account! /sighs/ Oh, by the way! Feel free to add me up on Goodreads, and recommend me any book/s! I am so willing to give any genre a try.
So, uhm, a short introduction about me. My name’s Darla, but all my close friends and relatives call me Darling. I’m turning 21 years old this year, and I am currently on my last year in Uni. Although I’ve been reading a lot of books for the past few years, I have only decided this year to start a book review blog.
- What made me start a book review blog this year (2016)?
Just last year (2015), I started an Instagram account where I can share photos of books I own, have read, want to read, and so on. I have never felt so welcome and at home in this bookish community, and for a short period of time, I was able to meet such wonderful people! I even had small interactions with some authors through instagram and twitter. In 2014, I got to attend my first book signing event ever, and it’s with Marie Lu! (eep!) Then this year, I did my first camp out for a book signing event for Christine Brae, Tarryn Fisher and Colleen Hoover, (gah!) and it was the most memorable book signing event I had ever attended, but that’s a story for another time, yeah? 😉 Anyways, it was then, at that day, that I swore to myself that I am definitely starting and organizing a blog of all my activities related to books. A new start for a new year!
***Note: The complete review policy will be found in the Review Policy menu above. Thank you for reading!***
- How will I rate my reviews?
I will rate my reviews based on the number of stars, 5 stars being the highest, and 1 star being the lowest. Although, truth be told, I have never rated a book anywhere below 3 stars in my Goodreads account. I have had my own fair share of top favorites and top lamest books, but I have never had the heart to rate anything I’ve read below three stars. So for a case like this, I will give a different definition on my rating scale.
